My Journey With Jesus

Look No Further Than At The Cross

Look No Further Than At The Cross

Good Friday and the days leading to it might have sounded somber, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

Yes, it’s definitely solemn yet a joyous occasion, which reminds of how one man – Jesus Christ changed both the history and future of humankind as we know it.

Solomon, the known wisest man to have ever lived according to the Bible, said this about mankind “that God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes.” (Ecclesiastes 7:29).

When God made the first man – Adam, he made him after His own image and gave him the earth to rule over and prohibited Him only from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

It was a perfect place and also God gave Adam a life partner to rule along with. But Adam and his partner Eve questioned God’s goodness in their heart and violated His words not to eat from the forbidden tree.

As a result, Mankind as a whole was sunken seemingly beyond deliverance and with him everything under his rule.

But God in His wisdom, had a way to restore mankind, one which would cost Him dearly yet He chose to do that.

God is love but He is also Holy and Just. As a Just God, He had to judge Man’s rebellion but His heart was not in it and sought a way to deliver him out of the consequences of his Sin (Going against God’s standards), which is death and eternal separation from God.

So, in His time God sent His own Son Jesus Christ, after the likeness of man to die in his place and thus deliver mankind as a whole in its wake.

The Bible says, “For our sake God made Jesus to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Jesus bore all our sins and sacrificed Himself on the cross and thus delivered us all from the consequences of sin.

God in His wisdom, restored not only what was seemingly beyond deliverance but restored it so much so that now we who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, would be called children of God.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)

If you feel your life is broken and beyond repair, look no further than at the cross where Jesus Christ restored humanity by laying down His own life. We do not need or have any other provision than what Jesus has done at the cross.

On this Good Friday, Would you repent and  trust in the One who is the Maker and Redeemer of all?
